The Westmoreland County Public School system (WMLCPS) is set to roll out an innovative Digital Literacy (DL) program for the 2024-2025 school year, aimed at integrating digital skills across all grade levels. The program seeks to empower students with essential digital competencies and promote responsible digital citizenship. Digital Literacy, as defined by WMLCPS, involves more than just familiarity with technology. It encompasses critical aspects of Digital Citizenship and foundational computer skills that are vital for students' success in an increasingly digital world. Superintendent Rice emphasized the importance of these skills, stating, "Digital Literacy encompasses important skills and concepts to help our students succeed in the future."
